While we still have some Maine moose footage to share, in anticipation of this year’s rut, it’s time to revisit some of the best rut clips bundled into one best hits. Of course, it all starts with Grumpy! He is by far the master of the rutting pit. We’ve lost count of how many pits we’ve seen him dig. (We’re very grateful for every minute spent with him). As the saying goes, we all start somewhere. At 2:29 seconds, Left Hook enters the scene. That day turned out to be one of the most exciting and adventurous of all our years of exploration. We watched Left Hook dig his pit and, half an hour later, we watched through binoculars as old warrior 22… who was about a kilometer away… methodically made his way to Left Hook’s pit party….22 broke into this party and these two bulls fought that day. (Video is available in our video section). At 4:10 seconds, back to another spectacular moose party with 22….the so-called boulder shoot. We actually climbed onto a 10-12 foot boulder and watched the show from there.
